Trading Pair Definition: A trading pair is the combination of two cryptocurrencies traded against each other on an exchange, allowing users to exchange one for the other directly.

A trading pair refers to two cryptocurrencies that can be exchanged for one another on a trading platform. It establishes the relative value between the two assets. For example, the BTC/ETH pair allows users to trade Bitcoin for Ethereum and vice versa. Trading pairs are fundamental to cryptocurrency exchanges, enabling the buying and selling of digital assets.

Trading pairs can also include fiat currencies, such as USD, EUR, or JPY. In this case, pairs like BTC/USD or ETH/USD represent how much of the quote currency (e.g., USD) is required to purchase one unit of the base currency (e.g., BTC). The base currency is the asset being bought or sold, while the quote currency is used to make the trade.
